03. FAQ's

I’m having trouble seeing a clear picture. Is there anything I can adjust to fix this?

Yes! Before contacting us for an RMA for a blurry picture check that you have adjusted the eye piece. Riton’s Fast Focus Eyepiece is located at the ocular end of the scope distinguishable by its colored knurling. To adjust this eyepiece twist counterclockwise while looking at a white piece of paper or a blank wall until the reticle is clear.

How do I bore sight my Riflescope?

Place the rifle solidly on a rest and remove the bolt. Sight through the bore at a target approximately 25 yards away. Move the rifle and the rest until the target is visually centered inside the barrel. With the target centered in the bore, make windage and elevati8on adjustments until the reticle crosshair is also centered over the target. (If a laser bore sighting or any other similar device inside the bore was used, it must be removed before firing. An obstructed bore can cause serious damage to the gun and possible injury to the shooter.)

Can I use other mounts and rings with my Riton Riflescope?

You can use other mounts and rings for Riton Riflescopes, but we suggest using the high-quality rings and mounts that can be found on ritonoptics.com. Make sure you get rings or a mount that matches the diameter of your riflescope.

What are the torque specifications for Riton Optics?

We suggest always using the torque information from your rings to ensure the best fit without damage to your scope. Riton products require torqueing of 15-18in/lbs for rings and mounts.

Do your products have a warranty?

Before contacting Riton make sure that you’ve done some troubleshooting. Most problems that are thought to be associated with your riflescope are actually mount problems. Make sure your mount is the right size and that the screws aren’t torqued too hard on the mount.

Our Warranty is Simple:

  • Riton Optics Lifetime warranty will cover all variable rifle scopes (non-electro-optics) and accessories, the 2-year warranty will cover electro-optics.
  • The Riton Optics warranties will cover all owners regardless of original purchaser.
  • Contact Riton Optics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Please email us atinfo@ritonoptics.comor call us 855-397-4866. Products returned without acquiring a Riton Optics RMA number will not be processed.
  • All warranty replacements will receive a brand-new product off the shelf or be offered a product of equal or lesser value as a replacement. We will not ever replace the product with a repaired or refurbished product.
  • Communication regarding product repairability or replacement will be communicated within two business days of receiving and approving of return.

FAQs

Is riton a good scope? ›

If you're in the market for a budget-friendly precision rifle scope for recreational shooting, whether for Western long-range hunting or range use, this scope is a solid choice.

What distance is a 3-9x40 scope good for? ›

You can shoot out to 1,000 yards just fine with a 3-9x40 if it has good turrets and decent optical quality, so it's tough to pick just one perfect magnification range for long-range shooting because everyone will have their own preferences.

Is Riton Optics made in China? ›

I recently stumbled across Riton's scopes. This is an American optics company that does its design work in the U.S. and then has the scopes built in Japan or China. Normally, I would focus attention on Japanese-made optics because Japan has a history of strong optics performance.

Is a 3x9x40 scope good for deer hunting? ›

A scope with high magnification power will allow you to shoot longer distances. But it can also get you in trouble at shorter distances in tight spaces. Plus, a lower magnification provides a wider field of view (FOV). Hence, the argument that the 3-9x40 may be the best rifle scope for deer hunting of all time.

What is the difference between Athlon and Riton scopes? ›

Athlon VS Riton Optics Comparison

The maximal magnification of Athlon is 16x and Riton has 18x. Athlon has a 9.2m/100m maximal field of view and Riton has 11.7m/100m. Athlon has a 2.3m/100m minimal field of view and Riton has 2.1m/100m. Athlon has 94mm eye relief and Riton has 87mm.

What is the best rifle scope for your money? ›

The Best Rifle Scopes of 2023
  • Best Overall: Swarovski ds Gen II 5-12X52.
  • Best Value: Sig Sauer Buckmasters 3-9X40mm Combo Kit.

  • Best Low Power Variable Optic: Leupold Patrol 6HD 1-6X24mm SFP.

What magnification is best for deer hunting? ›

For many years now, the 3-9x variable has been the most popular scope hunters buy. There's good reason for this. The 3x setting offers a reasonably large field of view for close, running shots, while 9x is plenty of magnification for shooting deer or elk at 300 yards.

What scope is better, 3x9 or 4x12? ›

The 3x9 model will make targets appear between 3 and 9 times closer than the actual distance based on what magnification you select by rotating the variable power knob in the scope. The 4x12 model makes targets appear between 4 and 12 times closer than the actual distance.

What is the best optic for 400 yards? ›

Most all-round hunting to 400 yards or so can be handled with a 3-9X or 4-12X, but you might like something up to 18X or 20X. More magnification than that can become a hindrance at close range and a rare-use specialty for long range.

Who owns Riton scopes? ›

Riton Optics was founded in 2013 in Tucson, Ariz. —where it remains to this day—by Brady Speth, a U.S. Air Force veteran and former Capitol Police Officer. The business moved slowly and methodically as the team fine-tuned designs to ensure they met and exceeded enthusiast expectations.

Are vortex scopes made in China? ›

You can purchase this scope for an affordable price of $206. The Vortex Crossfire and Crossfire II scopes are two of the most popular options on the market. These scopes are manufactured in China and offer a variety of features that are attractive to hunters and shooters.

What size scope is best for deer rifle? ›

The best magnification scope for deer hunting depends on the deer you're hunting. For close-range whitetails, a 2-10-power scope has plenty of magnification. For an open-country mule deer, a 3-18-power is a better option.

Which scope is better, 3-9X40 or 4x32? ›

The bottom line is we don't need a ton of power when we're out hunting deer. A 1-4x32 riflescope is perfectly fine for hunting among the brush. For more versatility, a 3-9x40 scope is the best bet.

Do you need an expensive scope for hunting? ›

Fortunately, hunters don't need to spend a bunch of money to get an accurate rifle. Plenty of affordable factory rifles provide out-of-the-box accuracy guarantees. But to achieve that guaranteed accuracy, you'll need a good scope. I own a couple tack driver rifles that cost less than the scopes mounted on them.

What quality is Riton Optics glass? ›

The Riton quality control process includes a thorough dual inspection, with every optic being tested and inspected twice. The Riton High Density (HD) glass delivers 99.5% light transmission for enhanced clarity and optimal sight picture.

What scopes do Navy SEALs use? ›

Holographic optics are incredibly tough and can take a real beating. The SU-123A seems to be the CQB optic of choice for everyone from the Navy SEALs to the Green Berets and over to the Marine Raiders. This optic can work with a broken lens and provides a crisp, clear reticle that can be used for a multitude of tasks.

What company makes the best scopes? ›

Here is our list for the best rifle scopes: Best overall: Leupold VX-5HD 3-15×44. Best close-range: Trijicon TA44 ACOG 1.5x16S. Best long-range: Vortex Viper PST II 5-25×50.
